A dramatic impact is produced when a spouting fountain sends a shooting stream of water high into the air. If your pond is sufficiently large, it can be incorporated without trouble. These sorts of fountains are often found in parks or historical stately homes.

One of the myriad examples of an outdoor water feature is a stylish wall fountain. If you are eager to include a water feature, but are concerned because you have a small yard, do not hesitate to install one of these. Spouting fountains usually make quite an impact whereas wall features are more of an understated kind of water feature. In this simple process. the water which is pushed out of a small opening, moves down a beautifully textured wall and is then collected at the bottom before being pushed back to the top.

Dependent on the design you have chosen for the garden, you could contemplate a themed fountain. A cherub holding a spout is one of the possible kinds of classical-styled statues you can use if you want your fountain to suit a rustically themed cottage or garden. Contemporary gardens, on the other hand, benefit from something more adventurous. Deciding what to do is entirely in your hands.

Tiered fountains are charming because the water flows down multiple levels. Water flowing down multiple levels of this water feature is the chief characteristic of a cascading fountain.

Since external fountains require a great deal of space, consider putting in a wall fountain or a pondless fountain. These kinds of water features are ideal for an area with limited space because their reservoirs are hidden underground.

Include a Japanese fountain if you are looking for a feeling of peace. Bamboo sticks are used in this type of fountain to expel the water. The cycle of water flowing into a rustic-styled bucket or a molded stone repeats itself again and again.

One of the many designs of fountain available is the glass fountain. Providing a more classical appearance are trellis-style fountains which feature shaped metalwork. Water features of this kind are an excellent option for gardens with many sharp edges as well as contemporary forms and design. The water produces a stunning effect when it streams down the surface of the glass. In some instances, the water is colored by LED lights as it flows over the glass sheets. Often made of imitation rock, stone waterfall fountains have water gently trickling down its surface.

Bubbling rock fountains are large rocks drilled with holes which are then filled with pipes in the middle. The bubbling and gurgling at the uppermost part of this type of fountain are brought on by the water being thrust upward at low pressure. The water comes back gently dripping down the sides of the rock to reach its starting point. This sort of fountain is perfectly suited for little gardens. Water is moved at low pressure in this type of fountain, so you can rest assured that it will not spray all over should the wind pick up.

Powered by sunlight, solar fountains are growing to be rapidly trendy. There are numerous reasons for this newly found interest such as the absence of cables, less difficulty in running them, a reduction in electricity bills, and the advantages to the environment. There is no need to choose a specific model of outdoor solar-powered fountain because of the wide variety of designs available on the market.

The Magnificent Tones of Musical Fountains

An animated musical fountain, also referred to as a dancing fountain which also creates three-dimensional imagery, is generally used for recreational purposes. Timed light, including lasers, and sound waves which strike water molecules, produces phenomenal displays. The three-dimensional images are produced by the water refracting and reflecting the light.

To create such an installation, hundreds of lights and water jets are needed, and can end up costing millions of dollars. Such a huge musical feature is very challenging to build because of all the technical, hydraulic, and electrical elements required to create the amazing effects - and could be considered more stunning than the actual show.

The fountain in Dubai is the largest musical undertaking worldwide. Spanning the 30-acre manmade Burj Khalifa Lake, it was the brainchild of California-based company WET Design, who was launched to fame for their breathtaking fountain design at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. This enormous fountain has 6,600 lights, 25 colored projectors, fog and fire. With a range of music from classical, to contemporary Arabic and world music, it spans 207-meters and propels water up to 150 meters (490 feet) - equal to a 50-story building) - into the air. The total cost was exceptional - an estimated 218 million US dollars. May 8, 2009 saw the formal introduction of the fountain and the Dubai Mall by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Souk Al Bahar or the Dubai Mall make suitable places from which to look at the fountain located in front of the Burj Khalifa.

Why A water Fountain Can Make Your World More Enjoyable

Having a fountain around can enhance your everyday life as the soothing sound of the water provides a sense of tranquility, and the movement of the water serves to clean and moisten the air.

You might not even be aware of the degree to which a water fountain, whether inside or outside, will enhance your life. People around the world flock to coastal cities and large bodies of water, most likely driven by the fact that our bodies have a high water content. All living beings need water to exist, and while you could move to an expensive house on the beach somewhere, a much easier and less expensive possibility is to install a water feature wherever you live.

Improve any outdoor area by adding a beautiful outdoor garden fountain. You might be amazed how your beautiful outdoor space can be even more charming with one of the many outdoor water features on the market. It can be installed on the exterior wall of your house above the patio, or even on the interior wall of a screened porch. Turn your flower garden into an oasis of serenity by adding a pretty tiered model. The flow of the water in birdbath fountains, as compared to still water, signifies that bacteria and algae will not accumulate in the water, making for healthier water for wild birds. Add the final touch with the tranquil sound of moving water in your garden.

How to Mount a Wall Water Fountain

Wall features can suit any area. Serenity and calmness will fill the room due to the soothing sound of the waterfall. Foyers are common places for wall fountains, but they can also be hung in any common area. Even though each model might have slight differences on how to hang it, the basic instructions are the same for all. Be sure that all the different pieces are used in building it. Once you connect the base and the top you will then need to attach the pump and the hoses. It is advisable to carefully review the directions before you start the assembly process. The assembly work is quite easy to understand. Note, however, that the directions for your specific model can vary a bit. Do not hesitate to get someone to assist you to keep the wall fountain in the right place while you make a small mark on the wall. To make sure it will be straight, use a level. Both the top and the bottom should be marked. Wall features can be installed in more than one way. There are slots on the back which can be mounted onto the screws you place on the wall. One other method is to mount it on brackets you have secured to the wall. The bracket option is better, particularly for wall fountains that are big and heavy. Put a spot on the wall where the brackets will best go on your wall fountain. Drill pilot holes in the wall for your drywall anchors. Put the anchors in the wall using a hammer. Use a cordless drill or a screwdriver to mount the brackets, making sure they are level. At this point, hoist your unit and hang it on the mounting brackets. Check to see that it is in the correct position and safely on the brackets. When you are confident the unit is secure, fill with water. There must be sufficient water to cover the water pump. It is now time to plug it in and see the water circulate. The water should fill the basin to within one inch of the very top. Note that it will overflow when not pumping if you fill it to the very top. The water level will rise because it all settles at the bottom of the basin if not being pumped. When the fountain is overly full, water can spill out and cause damage to the surrounding area.

Animals and Fountains

House pets may be dubious of a new water feature so be certain to take them into account before buying one. A pet dog or cat could think that a stand-alone fountain is a large pool or a drinking pond. Your pets will not be negatively influenced if you add a wall fountain to your property. You may need to think about where you will place the fountain as birds may take it as a bathing pond. Installing a birdbath in your yard is the ideal solution if you want to attract birds. To prevent this, however, putting in a wall water fountain inside your residence is a great alternative. These sorts of fountains are ideal for dental and medical practices, not to mention stately homes.
