Chatsworth Gardens: The Revelation Water Feature

“Revelation,” the latest addition to the ornamental outdoor fountains of Chatsworth, was designed by renowned British sculptor Angela Conner. In celebration of the Queen’s 80th birthday, she was commissioned by the deceased 11th Duke of Devonshire to build a limited edition bust of Queen Elizabeth designed of brass and steel in 2004. 142587-2404__18355.jpg “Revelation” was installed in 1999 in Jack Pond, one of Chatsworth’s first ponds. Alternatively concealing and exposing a gold colored globe at the sculpture’s heart, the metallic water feature takes on the shape of four large flower petals that open and close with the movement of water. A gold dust painted steel globe was created and incorporated into the big sculpture standing five meters in height and five meters wide. The flower petals move based on the circulation of water, making this installation an exciting addition to the Gardens of Chatsworth.

Exterior Wall Fountains: The Many Styles on the Market

If you want to create a place to relax and add some pizzazz to a small area such as a patio or courtyard, wall fountains are ideal because they do not occupy much space. The multitude of designs in outdoor wall fountains, including traditional, classic, contemporary, or Asian, means that you can find the one suitable to your wishes. It is possible to have one customized if you are not able to find a pre-assembled fountain to suit you.

The two types of water features available to you include mounted and stand-alone models. Small, self-contained mounted wall fountains can be hung on any surface. One of the most important features of wall fountains is that they be light, so they are typically made of fiberglass or resin to mirror the look of stone. Large-sized free-standing wall fountains, often referred to as floor fountains, have their basins located on the floor and a smooth side leaning on a wall. Water features such as these are typically made of cast stone and have no weight restrictions.

It is a good idea to incorporate a custom-made fountain into a new or existing wall, something often recommended by landscape experts. A skilled mason is required to install the water basin against the wall and properly install all the plumbing inside or behind the wall. You will need to incorporate a spout or fountain mask into the wall. Custom-built wall fountains contribute to a unified appearance because they become part of the scenery rather than look like a later addition.

The Cascade Fountain Located at The Garden of Chatsworth

The sound of the water falling fluctuates as it falls down the Cascades because of the slight difference in the size of each step thereby providing a fantastic and soothing complement to a walking through the gardens. In 2004, Chatsworth's Cascade was voted the best water feature in England.
