What Are Large Garden Fountains Crafted From?

Most modern-day garden fountains come in metal, although many other types exist. Metallic fountains, with their clean lines and sculptural accents, come in in a variety of metals and can accommodate any style or budget. If you have a modern-day look and feel to your interior design, your yard and garden should reflect that same look.

Today, a lot of people choose copper for their sculptural garden fountains. Copper is appropriate for many fountain styles, including tabletop and cascade water fountains, and can be placed inside or outside - making it a great option. Copper is also flexible enough that you can select a range of styles for your fountain, from contemporary to whimsical.

If you are drawn to more classic-looking water fountains, brass is probably for you. Even though they are a bit old-fashioned, brass fountains are quite widespread because they often include interesting artwork.

The most modern metal right now is definitely stainless steel. Adding a modern-looking steel design will immediately add value to your garden and enhance the overall mood. Like other water features, they come in an array of sizes.

Fiberglass fountains are well liked because they look similar to metal but are more affordable and much easier to move around. Caring for a fiberglass water fountain is fairly easy, another benefit that consumers seek.

Chatsworth Gardens and the Revelation Water Fountain

Angela Conner, the famous British sculptor, crafted “Revelation,” the latest addition to the appealing outdoor fountains of Chatsworth. She was delegated by the now deceased 11th Duke of Devonshire to create a limited edition bust of Queen Elizabeth, in 2004/5 in commemoration of the Queen’s 80th birthday celebration. Jack Pond, one of Chatsworth’s oldest ponds, had “Revelation” placed in 1999. Alternatively camouflaging and revealing a golden globe at the sculpture’s center, the metallic fountain takes on the form of four large petals that open and close with the movement of water. A gold dust colored steel globe was manufactured and incorporated to the large sculpture standing five meters high and five meters wide. This latest water fountain is an intriguing and interesting addition to the Chatsworth Gardens, unique in that the movement of the petals is totally powered by water.

How to Identify the Most Suitable Spot for Your Water Feature

When you are deciding on a water fountain, make sure you give some thought to where you will put it. Any high-traffic spots such as driveways, entryways, or roundabouts are perfect spots to install one.

Some types of fountains are specifically built to lean against a wall. Usually, they have something on the back of them like a hook or a bar with which you can use to attach them to a wall, post, or some other secure spot. Keep in mind when you install your fountain that you must safely affix it to a wall to avoid having it fall over in high winds and getting damaged.

In public places like parks where visitors tend to sit and take it easy for a few minutes, you will notice one other option – the garden sculpture style.

Fountains With More Than One Tier

Fountains with more than one tier are very easy to find, and typical above all in gardens. The countries in the southern region of Europe tend to have a lot of these types of fountains. The courtyards of buildings and public squares are just two the areas you might see one. While some multi-level fountains have ornate designs including sculptures or artwork, others are very simple.

Although they can be located just about anywhere, they seem particularly at home in more classic surroundings. The fountain should seem as old as the rest of the area and fit in accordingly.
