Simple Tips to Install a Wall Water Fountain

115446_11202__11138.jpg Wall fountains can suit any room. Peace and tranquility will fill the room due to the soothing sound of the waterfall. People tend to set up their wall fountains in entryways, but, in fact, they can be a wonderful addition to any room where everyone gathers. Although each model might have slight differences on how to hang it, the general instructions are the same for all. There are usually several pieces that need to be put together. Once you connect the base and the top you will then need to attach the pump and the hoses. The directions should be read first to make sure it is assembled properly. In general, it is simple and straightforward. Note, however, that the instructions for your individual model can vary slightly. The easiest way to make sure it is positioned correctly is to recruit somebody to hold it where you want it while you mark the wall. To ensure a proper line, use a level. Place your marks at both the top and the bottom. There is more than a single method to install a wall fountain. The first is to utilize screws which you slide into the slots on the back. Alternatively, brackets can be attached to the wall.

The bracket alternative is best, especially for wall fountains that are big and heavy. Determine where the brackets will go and then mark the precise location on the wall. Drill pilot holes in the wall wherever you need to set the drywall anchors. Carefully tap on the anchors with a hammer to insert them into the wall. Use a cordless drill or a screwdriver to attach the brackets, making certain they are straight. The wall fountain is all set to be placed onto the brackets. Ensure that it is properly installed and straight. If the alignment is right, it’s time to add some water. Make certain there is enough water to cover the pump. The water will begin to flow as soon as you plug in your fountain. The water basin should be filled to approximately one inch below the top end. Be careful not to fill it completely to the top or it will overflow when you turn off the pump. The water level will rise because it all settles at the bottom of the basin when not being pumped. When the fountain is overly full, water can spill out and cause damage to the nearby area.

How to Design the Optimal Space Inside or Outside

Including a feng shui fountain in your living area is certain to contribute to creating a sense of harmony and serenity. A garden or home waterfall is the ideal choice. They are the perfect addition to your household. The ideal location for your outdoor fountain is a spot where you can see it from indoors too.

Do not forget to add plants and flowers, as they have an important effect on the charm of a water fountain. Plants and flowers that come into bloom in various seasons make the ideal accompaniment. In addition, consider including other elements such as an outdoor fireplace, art, or interesting rocks.

The Interesting Beginnings of the Water Wall Fountain

The Roman scholar Pope Nicholas V (1397-1455) took the initiative to have countless of historic Greek writings translated into Latin. To further enhance his city's prestige, in the year 1453 he began to rebuild the Acqua Vergine, the damaged Roman waterway which previously supplied clean water to the city from 8 miles away. In addition, he revived the Roman custom of enhancing the terminal point of an aqueduct with a "mostra", a commemorative public fountain with a unique appearance. Pope Nicholas V ordered designer Leon Battista Alberti to construct a simple wall fountain where the Trevi Fountain is now located. Thus, the world's first known wall fountain was born from the Pope's desire to make Rome Christianity's capital and restore the city's water supply.

Fountains Featuring More Than One Tier

For many years now now, multi-tiered fountains have been prevalent, particularly in gardens. The regions in the southern portion of Europe tend to have a lot of these types of fountains. While they can be located anywhere, they are most common in the center of building complexes and in popular areas where people gather. Beautiful carvings can be found on some of the most lavish tiered fountains, while others have much simpler designs.

Any area can be enhanced with one, even though a more conventional setting is sometimes more appropriate. The fountain should look as old as the rest of the space and fit in accordingly.

At What Point Did Water Fountains Emerge?

Himself a highly educated man, Pope Nicholas V led the Roman Catholic Church from 1397 till 1455 and was responsible for the translation of hundreds of ancient texts from their original Greek into Latin. In order to make Rome deserving of being the capital of the Christian world, the Pope decided to enhance the beauty of the city. Beginning in 1453, the ruined ancient Roman aqueduct known as the Aqua Vergine which had brought clean drinking water into the city from eight miles away, underwent reconstruction at the behest of the Pope. The historical Roman tradition of marking the entry point of an aqueduct with an imposing celebratory fountain, also known as a mostra, was restored by Nicholas V. The architect Leon Battista Alberti was directed by the Pope to put up a wall fountain where we now find the Trevi Fountain. The aqueduct he had refurbished included modifications and extensions which eventually allowed it to supply water to the Trevi Fountain as well as the renowned baroque fountains in the Piazza del Popolo and the Piazza Navona.

Pets and Water Fountains

If you are considering getting a water feature, ensure that your pets like it. Your pooch could think that your stand-alone fountain resembles a big pond to drink from or a pool in which to swim. Your pets will not be negatively influenced if you incorporate a wall fountain to your yard. Your fountain may draw in birds who think it is a great place to cool down, so it is important to think about where you will place this type of water feature. If you intend to deliberately entice birds, however, putting in a birdbath is an ideal solution. Wall water fountains are great for indoor use as well if you want to sidestep these problems. These types of fountains are perfect for dental and medical offices, not to mention grand estates.
